Direct Operating Company Investments

We acquire direct ownership in businesses that:
  • We understand!
  • Are in the lower middle market.
  • Provide value add opportunity without a heavy lift.
  • Have a readily addressable market.
  • Provide a clear path to MOIC return >3x in 5 years.

Private Equity

We invest with private equity firms (and independent sponsors) that:
 
  • Share our core principles.
  • Have a proven track record and some personal connection to SLC.
  • Have a focused investment thesis.
  • Expect returns > 30% IRR.

Commercial Real Estate

We acquire direct ownership of commercial real estate that:
 
  • Offers a value add opportunity.
  • Is an asset we would be happy to own for the long-term.
  • Allow us to maintain responsible leverage across our portfolio (aggregate LTV at < 60%).
  • Provide a clear path to an aggregate fully loaded annual return on invested cash of at least 25%.
