Who We Are
Schoolhouse Lane Capital (“SLC”) is a private investment company founded by Chris Brodman. We make direct investments in commercial real estate and privately held operating businesses. We also invest in private equity funds and private credit funds. All of our investments are focused on the lower middle market. SLC invests its own capital in every deal, often alongside our network of investors. Our investment approach allows us to make decisions free from short-term pressure, bureaucratic mandates, and shifting cultural agendas that distort sound business judgment.

Our Principals
Chris Brodman
Lower middle market M&A lawyer and real estate professional with 30+ years of experience advising buyers and sellers. Sits on numerous private company boards. 10-year Vistage member, Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Certified M&A Advisor. Chris has a successful track record of acquiring and growing businesses as a principal. He is also a seasoned commercial real estate investor. Chris focuses on deal sourcing and execution for SLC.
Matt Brodman
A commercial real estate professional and a principal of Baker Young, a Pittsburgh brokerage and management firm with over 3,000,000 sf under management in multiple states. Licensed broker in Pennsylvania. Manages SLC’s real estate investments.
